Gotta love the 3-day weekends

For the Brooklyn Bridge 125th anniversary (and just for fun) we headed down to our favorite park in DUMBO to enjoy the day. Behind us is the Manhattan Bridge and further back is the Williamsburg Bridge. Avery loved the people watching and a nearby guitar player.

Avery patiently waiting on the subway platform on the way into Manhattan for a major shopping excurision. If you can't tell from the picture below she has completely outgrown her carseat stroller and keeps her legs dangling off at all angles. She loves her stroller so much she has to have at least one nap a day in it whether we are outside or inside (and of course always with her binky). Hopefully she'll like the new one too.

Why did they buy me this big floppy hat and why do they keep laughing at me in it???

A happy swinging bubula after her bath tonight.

New Poses

Avery found some new ways to get comfortable this week. She is always itching to twist herself onto her stomach but the other day she gave up on her tummy time - she plopped and got comfortable laying on her belly.

All day long she touches her toes (and pulls on her socks). She loves keeping her legs up in the air like this whether she's hanging out, getting her diaper changed or even while she's trying to fall asleep!

She's modeling her new sunglasses below - could she look less thrilled??

And finally another nap with her bunny on the couch. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of trying to move her to the crib during this nap so I could catch some zzzs (it was only 8am or so and she was already on her first nap), but of course she woke up the moment I picked her up! Marmel always says never wake a sleeping Avery and she was right!

here's a quick update

Avery had a doctor's appointment on Friday. Weighing in at 15.5 lbs and standing at 25.5 inches tall - she is still 90th percentile for height and weight. She's a big healthy girl and we are very happy about it!! She now takes out her pacifier and gets it back into her mouth oh about 50 percent of the time. She also moved to a sitting position while leaning back on me a couple times this weekend. All these little changes are really exciting - we had a great weekend with her!

Movie time

As promised a few weeks ago, here's a movie from our St. Louis trip featuring our wonderful niece, Tillie. This is our first shot at using the movie editing software on our new computer. Obviously we couldn't quite get it all figured out this time (the credits are very hard to see), but we think you'll still enjoy watching Tillie letting all of us know the real deal.

4 months old!

Avery is turning 4 months old tomorrow! We can't believe how quickly this past month went. This week we had lots of playdates and activites, including the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens with Grandmom and Grandpop.

lots of tulips behind us!
and gigantic peonies below...

pretty cherry blossoms!
look Avery really was there!

Avery in her first dress (she flipped up the bottom all day and flashed her diaper). Next time we need little shorts underneath.

Our friends Leyla and Keira loaned us their Bumbo chair, but Avery wanted to twist her way out - we might have to return it before she flips the chair (her thighs also had a hard time coming out - hehe).

This was Avery after roll #2. We call this her worrybrow - it's not a unibrow b/c she has two separate eyebrows - but the worry carries across the whole forehead. Oy - how did I get this way and what do I do now???

she rolls!

Avery has been trying to roll using just her head, but yesterday we practicing using her whole body over and over. Well this morning she got the hang of it and rolled twice! She then had a meltdown for over an hour from exerting herself - what an athlete!
We have our new computer finally - we just need to find our camera software to upload - should have new pics soon!
